Responsibilities

·        Install, configure, and update operating systems, servers, and applications.

·        Manage and configure virtualized environments, including VMware, Hyper-V, or similar platforms.

·        Set up and monitor network security, including VPNs, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.

·        Deploy, configure, and manage virtual networks, virtual machines, and other Azure infrastructure.

·        Monitor and manage the performance, health, and security of Azure resources.

·        Configure and manage Azure storage solutions, such as Blob storage, Azure SQL Database, and backups.

·        Implement data retention and recovery policies to ensure data integrity and availability.

·        Use Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics to track performance, diagnose issues, and gather insights.

·        Generate regular reports on resource usage, availability, and costs.

·        Manage IP allocation and network configurations to ensure optimal connectivity.

·        Implement and monitor backup solutions, ensuring data is regularly backed up and can be recovered.

·        Develop and test disaster recovery plans to guarantee business continuity.

·        Work on data replication and failover strategies.

·        Create, manage, and support user accounts, permissions, and access rights for different systems.

·        Handle Active Directory, LDAP, or similar directory services to organize users and resources.

·        Apply security best practices to safeguard systems from potential threats, such as malware and hackers.

·        Perform regular security audits, patch management, and vulnerability assessments.

·        Maintain an inventory of all hardware and software resources, ensuring timely upgrades or replacements.

·        Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, policies, and procedures.

·        Generate regular reports on system performance, uptime, and security incidents.

·        Educate users on best practices, security protocols, and new tools.

·        Understanding of Web Servers: Familiarity with hosting servers (e.g., Apache, Nginx, IIS) and their configurations for website deployment.

·        DNS Settings: Managing DNS settings to connect a domain to hosting, including setting up A records to point to the server’s IP address.

·        SSL/TLS Certificates: Installation and configuration of SSL/TLS certificates for secure, HTTPS access.

Requirements

·        Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with 2 - 4 years of relevant experience.

·        Professional certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)) are often preferred.

·        Proficiency with Windows server and Linux operating systems.

·        Proficiency in Microsoft Azure services, including Azure AD, VMs, storage, and networking.
